Hat

20th century (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Woollen embroidered hood. Made from densely woven and felted 'patti' cloth, these hats are decorated with woollen embroidery, either in simple patterns of spots or in branching patterns. These branched or 'ram's horn' designs recall those on woollen garments and felts from Central Asia, which is scarcely surprising in view of the continuous trade linking the northern areas of Pakistan and Central Asia.
