Physical description
Sheet with illustrations and dates for the months of October, November and December from the 'British Architect and Northern Engineer' calendar for the year 1881. Each of the months has a decorated heading at the top of the page, printed in black; beneath is an illustration and a calendar for the month, with significant events listed for some of the days. October has an illustration of a man digging with a spade; November has an illustration of a longbowman holding a branch and a trowel; December has an illustration of a bearded man holding up a bowl of water.

This print is one of four proofs for The British Architect and Northern Engineer calendar for the year 1881, published as a folding plate between pages 176, 177 of Volume 14, July to December 1880. The designs for the illustrations on eleven of the months (September missing) are E.522-532-1963.
