Pierre Louis Duchartre and René Saulnier state on p.194 of L'Imagerie Populaire, Paris, 1925, that illustrations bearing the official stamp lettered 'Ministère de l'Interieur Sûreté générale, Vosges, Colportage' may be dated between 1851 and 1860.
