Object history
This set design by Maise Meiklejohn is part of an extensive collection of designs by the artist purchased by the Theatre Museum in 1990. The design was executed for a production of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's play "A Trip to Scarborough" performed at the Arts Theatre, May 26th 1944. The play was produced by Denys Blakelock, and the cast included Frith Banbury as Lord Foppington, Davird Bird as Sir Tunbelly Clumsy, Wenda Rogerson as Amanda, and Joan Haythorne as Berinthia.
