Object history
One of the cover designs of the Keynote Series of novels and short stories (begun by Elkin Matthews & John Lane, and afterwards continued by Mr. John Lane alone). Titles (18 from the set of 21, Nos. 1, 11 and 21 missing) from a booklet advertising the series. The original pen and ink designs are reproduced as Pl.98 to 106, and 108 to 116 of The Early Work of Aubrey Beardsley, London and New York, 1899.
