| Object history | Registered File number 1993/2354, Streetstyle exhibition 1994-1995, in the exhibition it was part of an outfit called 'Fashion Rocker - Bella Freud and Philip Treacy for Bella Freud UK Spring/Summer 1994' (includes the hat T.664-1993). This jacket and the matching beret (T.664-1993) by Phillip Treacy represented a Fashion Rocker look for the Streetstyle exhibition of 1994. The jacket is based on the traditional Perfecto jacket worn by bikers and rockers, but made from a fleecy wool bouclé in a candy pink colour rather than traditional black leather. The designer Bella Freud said at time of donation: "Traditionally, a tough style but very accessible in fleecy little lamb pink. I like the idea of giving a very luxurious feel to a spare silhouette." |
