Physical description
Plate of porcelain, circular in shape with broad, canted rim. Painted round the rim with four scenes in black, depciting the city of London, together with a view of the river Canton separated by panels of lotus scroll-work, executed in iron-red and gilt. A repetition of the same views are on the other side. In the centre, within a running lotus scroll border are painted with the Arms of Lee in red, black, blue, white and rose pink enamel.

This plate is decorated with the arms of Lee quartering Astley, with views of London and the Pearl River at Canton. It was part of a dinner service specially ordered from China. Service was made for Eldred Lancelto Lee of Coton, Shropshire (1650-1734).
