Historical context
The Beauty of Ghent, a ballet by F. Albert, with music by Adolphe Adam, was first performed in England at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London, 15 February, 1844. The ballet was first produced at the Théâtre de l'Academie Royale de Musique, Paris, 22 June 1842.
