Morton Sundour Fabrics Ltd., Carlisle, was formed in 1914 with James Morton (1867-1943) as Governing Director. It took over nearly all the manufactories, save for lace and carpet production, of Alexander Morton & Co. It produced well-designed, reliable fabrics at reasonable cost.

Furnishing fabric of roller-printed cotton chintz. Depicting characters from the 'Alice in Wonderland' novel. Attached to the fabric are six small samples showing alternative colourways.
