Object history
This was sculpted ca. 1930 of the British actress Flora Robson (1902-1984). In 1934 Donald Hastings had an exhibition of his portrait heads at the New Burlington Galleries. The bronzes were mostly bought by the sitters, but later Mrs Hastings (the mother of the donor) had casts made from the original moulds. These remained with Evelyn Hastings, the sculptor's daughter.
