An illustration from the story of the Broken Pitcher (lota); two children seek protection beneath the shawls of a bearded man and a young woman. To the left, a group of four women, one of whom holds the neck of a broken pot, lead forward the culprit for the breakage, the child Krishna, whose name appears on his right thigh. In the background, monkeys play through the window of a house, and through a door hurries a male figure.
