Transferred from the India Museum in 1879. India Museum Slip Book entry 2644: 'Muslin Colored Check / Madras / 55 / Sample in Fabric Book 126'. Swatches from the original textile appear in John Forbes Watson's The Textile Manufactures of India (1866), vol.IX, no.334.
