Linen sampler embroidered with coloured silks using darning and cross-stitch with button holing. Around the edge of the sampler are patterns, arranged in cross shapes, of different darning stitches. Four long rectangles of darning patterns form a square in the centre, in which are eight smaller rectangles. In the centre are the initials 'C.B.' and around the inner square is the inscription 'IANTJE BUIK IN ENKHUISEN DEN 3 DECEMBER ANNO 1799'
