Place of origin

Set in the urban jungle of Bombay (Mumbai), this film has the star Amitabh Bachchan growing up on the wrong side of the law and continuing in his famous role as the anti-hero or 'angry young man'. This image of him bursting out of the centre of the poster on a motorbike, set against a background of four large portraits, reinforces this reputation. The three-dimensional typography also suggests to the audience that this could be an epic film.

In this poster a pyramidal structure links the main characters. There are four portraits of equal size, two of men and below them two of women. In the centre of the portrait is an image of the actor Amitabh Bachchan on a motorbike, he is depicted in natural colours and contrasts with the green of the other portraits. The English title runs across the bottom of the poster and the typography is in a three-dimensional style which gives a sense of a monumental scale. The Hindi and Urdu titles are much smaller and in the bottom left hand corner. The artist's signature, Laxman, is on the right hand edge.
