The donor of this poster, Tim Fransen, undertook a charity motorbike ride from the UK to Gambia to raise money for a children's charity in The Gambia. To raise money, he was selling 1000 copies of this poster, franchised for the purpose by Ralph Steadman. The design is an update and recontextualisation of a 1994 drawing by Steadman entitled 'Essex-Dakar', referencing the fashionable Paris-Dakar rally.
