  • Ruled lines in black chalk for the inscription at the top, in brown ink, Avidi doctrina / quamvis librum / aliquod spatium / relinquant id / tamen non est / sine omni stu- / dio (‘Those greedy for learning, even when they leave aside a book for some time, do not so without any study’). Inscribed below, in brown ink, neque hæc vacua omnia / sedulitas etiam minimum contemnere nescit ; / nec vacum exiguum quam libet, esse sinit. / Exiguum cessit spatium mihi non tamen omne / perditur ; exiguum perdere saepe nocet. / Jacobus Tserstevens brux[ellensis] poeta in gymn[asio] Soc[ieta]tis / jesu. Brux[ellis] 1683.
  • Inscribed at lower right, in brown ink (with the museum’s inv. no.), 9280.13. Inscribed on verso, in brown ink: at upper centre, No. 58c; below this, Emblemata (underlined); and at centre, 39 stuks. Inscribed at bottom of mount, in graphite, Astrologer.
