The designer of this wallpaper is unknown, but it is a 20th-century British version of the kind of scenic wallpapers produced by French wallpaper manufacturers in the early 19th century. This was issued as a Sanderson Studio design. Each length of paper is printed with a section from a pictorial design; when hung they create a panoramic mural around the walls of a room. This set depicts an idealised view of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
