WEFT: dark red and dark brown wool; Z2S; 2 shoots of weft after each row of knots, sometimes one of each colour; 8-10 knots per inch (33-45 per dm).

PILE: wool. 10 colours: red, orange, yellow, light yellow, green, dark blue, blue, dark brown, black, white; asymmetrical knot open to the left and tied around 2 threads; 68-105 knots per sq. inch (1089-1890 per dm).

SIDE FINISH: one cord oversewn with red wool.

END FINISH: Lower: missing but a block 11" (28 cm) wide has been added with cotton warp in the centre of the end; this forms a short single-knotted fringe and one row of white and red weft twining. Upper: missing but with evidence of plain weave in narrow bands of dark brown/red/dark brown wool.

DESIGN: Field with very narrow vertical stripes with alternating blue and white ground bearing a pattern of identical floral meanders - a green stem on a white ground and an orange stem on a dark blue ground.

Main border: red ground with very stylised meander.
Inner and outer borders: blue ground with dark brown meander with tiny red flowerheads and white leaves.
There are three bands below and above the borders: each band consists of square of contrasting colours: blue/white, red/green, blue/white.
