‘Liverdun’, one of the 'Twelve Etchings from Nature', by J.A.M. Whistler, also called 'The French Set'. 1858. Published in London by Whistler at 62 Sloane Street and in Paris at Imprimerie Delâtre, Rue St. Jacques 171. Signed in plate by the artist and lettered ‘Imp. Delâtre, Rue St Jacques 171’. View of a farmyard in the village of Liverdun, near Toul, in Lorraine. Picturesque farm buildings are shown, half in shadow, with a cow in the foreground and farm implements including ladders and the shafts of a wagon propped up against the walls.
