This set of advertising/souvenir postcards depicting the Aeroflot fleet is from the transitional period between Socialist Realist propaganda extolling the wonders of Soviet technology and the explosion of commercial advertising that swamped the visual culture after the collapse of Communism. Although probably published in 1992, after the formal dissolution of the USSR, the illustration style and the Soviet-era logos for Aeroflot and Aviareklama (the publisher) hark back to the past.
