Head and shoulders portrait in an oval, turned slightly to right and looking to front. The sitter is wearing a long wig, neck cloth and a cloak with the star of the Order of the Garter. The name of the painter, in the lower left corner, has been altered by hand. In each corner of the print is an oval with an allegorical picture. In the top left is a flower in a garden and the inscription 'angues arcibit ab hortis'; in the top right is a leopard and a lion fighting and the inscription 'nec proderit astus'; in the lower left is a harp and the inscription 'componit et excitat iras; in the lower right is an arm holding a sword and the inscription 'metum paenamque rebeltibus infert'.
