Physical description

Whole-length portrait, standing to front, looking to right, in a landscape. The sitter is wearing a military uniform, holding a cane in his right hand, a hat in the other and is standing by the coast. In the left background is a view of a fort - possibly either Mount Orgueil or Elizabeth Castle on the island of Jersey.
