This chair was designed by Borge Mogenson and made by Erhard Rasmussen in Denmark in 1950. The frame is made from oak and the seat and back support from leather. A series of buckles are used to fasten the leather but are only visible from the back and underside of the chair.
This model was designed as part of the furnishings of a hunting lodge shown at the Copenhagen Cabinet Makers' Guild exhibition of 1950. The chair was imported by Finmar Ltd., the firm most responsible for bringing Scandinavian furniture to Britain between the 1930s and the 1960s. The chair was formerly owned by the director of Finmar, who reputedly acquired it from the designer.
