A standing male bird, Garuda, vahana of the God Vishnu, with bird wings and bird nose. The god stands on a circular base, the right leg advanced, the left arm is raised above the head, the right arm holding a serpent (naga), his mortal enemy. Other serpents are entwined round his waist, hips and shoulders. He wears a long garland (vanamala); coronet (kirita makuta); loincloth and girdle, the latter with a fan-like end piece extending between the legs.
