Place of origin |
No information survives about the identity of the monogrammist EVG, and this series of prints represents his only recognisable work. However, these designs exemplify the sort of architectural jewellery that was popular in the sixteenth century, particularly in northern Europe. Hans Collaert, who engraved and printed the collection, was himself the designer of many pendant designs with similarly architectural features throughout his career.
