Object history
These plates are a reissue of an earlier set executed by Agostino Veneziano in c. 1530 (27724.12 and 27724.13)

From Miller (1999), p. 88-89:
Bartsch links these prints with the work of Raphael and Giovanni da Udine. Berliner sees a strong influence of Raphael on plate 9, and of classical wall decoration on plates 5 and 6. Hind suggests the unsigned plate 8 is more likely to be by Agostino Veneziano, and that plates 18 and 19 were probably engraved on either side of the same piece of copper. For the motif in plate 9 of putti playing with masks, see a drawing after Mantegna, Martineau (ed.), no. 149. The numbering on the plates in the first issue, Catalogue 29a, differs from that on Salamanca's reissue, Catalogue 29c, upon which Bartsch based his numbering. the order of the plate descriptions below follows Bartsch, except for plates 5 and 6, which have been reversed becasue of the presence of a number 5 on the impression of B. XIV, 569-II.
