Production
The NPG version of this print is dated ca.1746-1756; however, the address used by John Bowles, as well as the publishing address of his son Carington, suggest that this print was re-published in the 1760s, presumably after 1765 when street numbering came into effect, and certainly after 1763 when Carington Bowles was operating at a separate address in St. Paul's Church Yard. Earlier states of this print were published by John and his brother Thomas Bowles, Carington's predecessor at St. Paul's Church Yard.
