Gold metal embroidery threads form the structure of this fragile looking jacket. The designer used a machine to knit the threads in an open pattern. She then embellished the jacket with leaves which were boiled, bleached and washed, and then hand-sewn onto the garment.
Dora Baker, who designed and made the jacket, is a spinner, weaver and machine knitter. She is a licentiate of the Guild of Designer Craftsmen.
