Bookplate of Lady Wernher, inscribed with the engraver's initials and date 'Inv. W.P.B. 1900', and the name 'Alice Wernher'. A rural scene is depicted with a flock of birds, possibly swallows, flying overhead and the word 'Birdie' in a frame at the top of the plate accompanied by the inscription 'My Silent But Faithful Friends Are They'. There are a number of volumes of musical scores at the bottom of the plate, with the work of Chopin, Wagner, Beethoven and Schumann visible.
