Physical description

Pictorial bookplate illustrating a desk with a microscope, writing paper and books flooded with light from an open window, and a bookcase behind the desk. An empty chair is at the desk. A single iris in a vase sits on the windowsill. A painting is hung above the bookcase depicting a Venetian scene. Boxes above and below read "EX LIBRIS" and "F. RANSOM" and the image is contained in a frame containing leeches, slugs and other gastropods.
