Object history | This costume design by Alix Stone is part of an extensive collection of designs purchased by the Theatre Museum directly from the artist in 1994. The design was executed for a production of William Shakespeare's play "The Taming of the Shrew", performed by the Old Vic Company at the New Theatre, August 26th 1947. The production was directed by John Burrell; the sets were designed by Kathleen Ankers; the costumes were designed by Audrey Cruddas; and the lighting was by John Sullivan. Alix Stone designed the costumes for the Prologue. |
