| Object history | This costume design by Alix Stone is part of an extensive collection of designs purchased by the Theatre Museum directly from the artist in 1994. The design was executed for a production of George Bernard Shaw's play "Saint Joan", performed by the Old Vic Company at the New Theatre, December 3rd 1947. The production was directed by John Burrell; and the sets were designed by Michael Warre. The cast included Celia Johnson as Joan. |
