Fashion plate showing fancy dress costumes and party dresses for young girls. In the top row, a pink party dress with beaded yoke and fan, and a purple, black and yellow satin dress and large hair bow trimmed with large pansies (probably representing the flower). In the bottom row, a female all-white Pierrot costume, a dress possibly representing an Italian peasant costume or other folk dress, and a pale blue satin period dress (possibly supposed to represent 17th century Van Dyck dress) with a large lace collar and gold braid.

| Object history | This print is part of a very large collection of reference material including fashion plates, engravings, original drawings and illustrations that were collected by the fashion design house of Paquin at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries. Many bear the stamp of Paquin's archivist at the time. They were acquired by the V&A in 1957 when, following the closure of the combined houses of Paquin and Worth, the Worth/Paquin archives and design books were donated to the Museum. |
