The design on the front of the box incorporates a representation of a key-hole, but the lid is fastened by a hooked wire and staple.

A miniature wooden coffer covered with paper bearing a design of formalized birds and foliage, and on the lid a scene showing a shepherd and shepherdess, with a house in the background.
