Object history | This drawing was probably formerly in the collection of P. J. Mariette (1694-1774). The medallist mentioned in the inscription was F. J. Marteau, who worked for the Paris mint during the second quarter of the 18th century. See the note to E.101-1959 for a general account of the group of designs by Bouchardon to which this drawing belongs. |
