Physical description
Portrait of Sir Peter Paul Rubens and his wife. Rubens is depicted as a falconer, attended by two dogs, standing in a landscape, with dead game heaped on the right; his wife, dressed as a peasant girl, stands beside him carrying a basket of fruit from which he selects a fig.

Self-portrait as a falconer attended by two dogs, standing in a landscape, with dead game heaped on the right; his wife, dressed as a peasant girl, stands beside him carrying a basket of fruit from which he selects a fig; the painting sometimes called 'The Fig'.
