Physical description

Portrait, full-length, standing on the deck of a warship, facing half right with his left arm raised and wearing admiral's uniform with epaulettes. The sitter is wearing a sword at his left side and is holding a telescope in his right hand. On the right is a cannon and shot; to the left is the mast of the ship.
