Object history
This print is based on a drawing by Jean-Marc Nattier made after a painting by Rubens. The series comprised three prints and was entitled 'Galerie du Luxembourg'. Marc Nattier, father of Jean-Marc, held a royal licence to reproduce the cycle of paintings by Rubens depicting the History of Marie de Medicis. The paintings were then in the Palais du Luxembourg and are presently in the Louvre, Paris.
