Object history | The geometric pattern of the design was to be associated with the scientific achievements of the mid 20th century. The four corner squares symbolise Nuclear Physics, Electronics, Aeronautics and Biochemistry; the central section represents the earth whirling in an atmosphere of other planets, atoms and electrons. |
