| Physical description | Design in pencil and watercolour of the interior of the Grand Hall at the Criterion Restaurant. The hall depicted has high curved ceiling above a large open central space. Blue striped upholstered booths and chairs line the walls on either side. Wall paintings of landscapes are depicted on the top half of the walls between tall indigo coloured fluted pilasters with scrolling capitals. A stage area with floor length blue curtains is centred in the back of the hall space. The curved ceiling is coffered and a large crystal chandelier hangs within a glass dome skylight at the centre of the ceiling. |
