Physical description

Beechwood, in imitation of rosewood, and parcel gilt with velvet upholstered seat and back. (Reupholstered in 1966 with modern yellow material. The back and seat trimmed with braid patterned with a key pattern in green on a yellow background.) The rear legs end with uprights framing the back formed of two straight vertical posts terminating in gilt pineapple finials. Reeded arms finishing in black leopards' heads. The arm supports and front legs of baluster form. The seat frame square and studded with small brass discs. Some brass discs on end of arm support.

stamped on the inside back of the subsidiary seat frame rail and also, upside down, on the inside back of the main seat frame rail.
