In the mid 1970s Mara was seen as one of the most exciting young printmakers to emerge from the Royal College of Art and the V&A collected one of his own favourite images 'The Stage and Television Today' (1975), since then adding to this with 'Chequered Face' (1977) and pieces included in Royal College of Art portfolios. After studying at the Royal College of Art Tim Mara taught and practised printmaking and was made Professor of Printmaking at the College in 1990.
