Object history
The drawings were originally in four bound volumes. They were later detatched and stored in paper folders, two of which are inscribed with the biographical notes of some of the artists. The drawings and paper folders and now stored separately. In addition, there are some slips of paper describing the subjects of the evening sessions, and two stamped leather titles from the original bindings, one lettered ‘Homer’s Odyssey (1810-11)’ the other ‘The Lady of the Lake (1811-12). Given by Denys Oppé in memory of Paul Oppé. Paul Oppé bought the collection in 1936.
