Chest on stand, japanned pine. The stand is carved and parcel gilt, and the mounts are of brass. The chest is decorated with Chinoiserie scenes of a watery landscape with houses, trees, and boats. The elaborate brass keyhole escutcheon is engraved with leaves and chinese cloud forms; the lid is secured by a hasp. There are turned brass loop handles on either side.
The whole rests on a Vitruvian scrolled frieze centered with a double irregular Baroque shell and supported in the front by a pair of wyverns and in the rear by acanthus decorated scrolled legs.
