Gallery label
with 'S' seal, probably for the Savoy glasshouse of George Ravenscroft. This piece contains 14% lead, and is almost identical to stems sealed with the raven head. Such wine and beer glasses are listed in the Duke of Bedford's accounts for 1676-7, for example ' new Flintt wine glasses mrd (marked)'.
