Victor Almaric Walter (1870-c.1920) began working in pâte-de-verre as early as 1895 but did not exhibit until 1903. He studied at Sèvres and between 1905 and 1914 he worked at the Daum glassworks with the modeller Henri Bergé in Nancy as well as making a window in pâte de verre in 1909 with Jacques Gruber. He opened his own workshop/studio in Nancy in 1919-20, after the First World War and, with many individual artists, including Bergé, continued to make vases, bowl and small sculptural figures in glass and ceramic until the 1950s. He won awards at the international exhibitions, Paris 1900, and Brussels, 1910.
