This modest vase was one of a number at around 1932-35 by Simon Gate (1883-1945), employing plain flat-cutting. In Britain, such cutting is associated with early 19thC British glass. Pattern no. GA 395/4 was designed in 1932 and first appeared in the Orrefors trade catalogue of 1935.
