The figure studies possibly relate to drawings to illustrate The Book of Enoch, St Pauls Epistles and Swedenborg’s Works. (See Christopher Powney and Heim Gallery, Flaxman Exhibition, 1976, Cat. Nos. 82-87 and David Bindman ed, John Flaxman, R.A.., Royal Academy of Arts,1979 pp. 126-127).
The sketch for the monument relates to Nos. CAI.1065 and 1029, 1090, 1072 and 1071 in the Victoria and Albert Museum Bequeathed by C. A. Ionides, 1900.
