Albumen print from a wet collodion negative depicting 'The North Shore Of The Dead Sea'. Bound in publishers' cloth. Some photographs signed 'Frith' and/or dated 1857 and numbered on negative. Each sheet lettered with title and 'Frith. Photo. 1857'.

Descriptive line

Albumen print from a wet collodion negative by Francis Frith, entitled 'The North Shore Of The Dead Sea' from a volume of 37 photographs, 'Egypt and Paelstine, (Vol.1). Printed in Britain, 1859.

Production Note

Egypt and Palestine photographed and described by Francis Frith was originally published in monthly parts. In 1859, the parts were issued in two volumes, with 37 and 39 photographs respectively. A third volume was published in 1860.
