Object history
The engraving shows the Temple from the ballet La morte di Ettore, choreographed by De Rossi, designed by Sanquirico, given at La Scala, Milan in 1810. The alternative title is Achille sotto le mura di Troja.
The print came to the Museum as part of the Cyril Beaumont Bequest.

Historical significance: An example of early 19th century scene design, in the realistic, pictorial tradition by one of the leading Italian scene designers of the period.
